ARNOLD, Md. — The Anne Arundel Community College baseball team opened a doubleheader with an offensive outburst but couldn't complete the sweep, splitting a pair of Region 20 divisional games Saturday against Allegany College of Maryland at Skip Brown Field.
Game One: AACC 14, Allegany 3 (5 inn)
Anne Arundel erupted for five runs in the first inning and never looked back in a 14–3 victory in the opener.
Chris Ricks ignited the early surge with a three‑run homer, and the Riverhawks scored in every inning of the five‑inning contest. Zach Davidson finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs, including a walk-off three‑run home run in the fifth, while Camden Hodges went 3-for-4, scored three runs, and stole a base.
Travis Fleshman drove in three runs and Evan Birch added two RBIs as Anne Arundel collected 13 hits and swiped five bases.
Scott Grabau earned the win with his first career complete game, allowing five hits and one earned run while walking none over five innings. He threw 64 pitches, 44 for strikes.
Game Two: Allegany 4, AACC 3
Allegany bounced back in the nightcap, getting a seven‑inning complete game from Hiroto Kimura in a 4–3 win. Kimura scattered eight hits, allowed one earned run and struck out five as he held the Riverhawks scoreless after the third inning.
Anne Arundel managed all three of its runs in the third inning. Ryan Jones went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Camden Hodges doubled and scored, and Zach Davidson drove in a run.
Gavin Glos took the loss for Anne Arundel, allowing four runs over 4.1 innings. Matt Donaldson struck out six and allowed just two hits in the final 2.2 innings.
With the split, Anne Arundel moved to 19‑16 overall and 9‑9 in Region 20 DII games.
