Three From Men's Lacrosse Named All-Region

ARNOLD, Md. – Three members of the Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team have been named to the 2026 All-Region 20 Teams, it was announced Monday. Sophomore faceoff specialist James Kavney and freshman midfielder David Law were named to the second team. Freshman attacker Alex Patton was named honorable mention.
A faceoff specialist from Edgewater, Md., Kavney earned All-Region second team honors for the second-straight year. The sophomore led the NJCAA in both faceoff percentage (73.7%) and total faceoffs won (182). In 10 games played, Kavney won over 75% of his faceoffs, including a 90% effort (18-20) against Mercer in the Riverhawks' home opener March 7. In six games against ranked opponents, Kavney won 68% of his faceoffs, including an 80% (20-25) performance against then No. 4 Nassau on March 29. Kavney added three goals and five assists on the year, netting a goal and an assist against Mercer and a career-high four assists at Tompkins Cortland on March 21. He was named NJCAA Player of the Week for games played the week of March 2 after going 38-54 (70.4%) in two games.
Law, a freshman midfielder from Davidsonville, was tied for the team lead with 44 points on 20 goals and a team-high 24 assists, which ranked sixth in Region 20. He recorded at least one assist in every game, picking up four helpers on two occasions – against then No. 4 CCBC Essex on March 4 as part of a career-high 10-point game, and again at Tompkins Cortland on March 21st. Law also had six multi-goal games, three of which came against ranked opponents, and ranked fourth on the team with 26 groundballs.
Patton, a freshman attacker from Glen Burnie, led the team and ranked fifth in Region 20 with 32 goals, adding 12 assists for a team high-tying 44 points. He recorded seven multi-goal games, three against ranked opponents. Patton was named the NJCAA Player of the Week for games played in the final week of February after scoring a career-high seven goals – including the game-winner with 2.2 second left - in the Riverhawks' season opener at Delaware Tech. He scored a team-high six man-up goals on the season, including three in the win at Delaware Tech.
