ARNOLD, Md. — The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team created plenty of chances but couldn't break through against No. 20 Howard, falling 6–0 in Region 20 play Wednesday evening at Siegert Field
Howard (7–0, 6–0 Region 20) struck twice in quick succession midway through the first half. Bryan Barrientos opened the scoring in the 12th minute off a pass from Donnie Frayer, then Frayer doubled the lead less than two minutes later with help from Yeabsira Tesfaye.
Anne Arundel (1–5–1, 1–2–1) responded with pressure of its own, earning four first-half shots and two corner kicks, but couldn't cut into the deficit. Keeper Ethan Kiniry kept the Riverhawks within reach at the break with three first-half saves, including a huge stop on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute.
The Dragons pulled away in the second half with four goals in a 25-minute span. Denny Mora (62'), Kiar Sani (65'), and Barrientos again (72') extended the margin, and Carlos Contreras capped the scoring in the 87th.
Anne Arundel finished with 15 shots—four on target—led by Stephen Liberati (five attempts) and Lucas Cerulla (three). Kiniry and Dylan Cunningham combined for four saves in goal.
The Riverhawks return to action at Siegert Field on Tuesday, September 23, in a 7 p.m. Region 20 game against Harford Community College.
