ARNOLD, Md. -- Facing one of the top programs in the nation, the Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team battled throughout but came up short in a 7-0 loss to No. 8 CCBC Essex on Tuesday night at Siegert Field.
Goalkeeper Ethan Kiniry was busy from the opening whistle, finishing with a career-high 11 saves including several highlight-reel stops as the Riverhawks worked to contain the Region 20-leading Knights. Anne Arundel generated its best looks late in the second half, with Stephen Liberati and CJ Santos each testing the Essex back line, but the Riverhawks couldn't find the net against the visitors' pressure.
The Riverhawks (2-9-1, 2-4-1 Region 20) will look to regroup at Cecil on Tuesday, October 14 in 1 4 p.m. game.
