ARNOLD, Md. — Anne Arundel Community College volleyball dropped both matches in a home tri-match Saturday, falling 3-1 to CCBC Beaver County and 3-1 to Frederick.
In the opener, Beaver County edged the Riverhawks in four sets (25-21, 25-18, 19-25, 26-24). Anne Arundel rallied in the third set behind strong play from Leah Tompson and Hope Lewis, who combined for 13 kills, and setter Melissa Cunningham, who finished with 31 assists and 17 digs. Emily Shadle added 13 digs and two aces at libero.
In the second match, Frederick overcame a fast AACC start to claim the 3-1 win (21-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-19). The Riverhawks hit .387 in the opening set, led by Myiah Parks, who finished with a team-high nine kills and four blocks. Emily Ezeiruaku chipped in 11 kills and 14 digs, while Cunningham again steadied the offense with 24 assists. Shadle added 13 digs, and Nadia Suber contributed three blocks.

AACC is back in action on Saturday, October 4, in a tri-match at Potomac State with Butler County. The Riverhawks face the nationally-ranked (DIII) Pioneers at 2 p.m. and the host Catamounts at 4 p.m.
